Hey just for the record -it can be the lighter itself - they do not last forever-cheap test -just about everyone has something that plugs into lighter-ask or use your cell phone charger-it is free. if nothing that you plug in lights up it is the fuse-if something lights up it is the lighter filiment gone in the lighter unit. They are available at car shops everywhere /Rose's, Canadian tire any auto shop-most look better than the original

The fuses are metal-bladed, plastic housing devices and they are sometimes difficult to remove. Many cars have a fuse puller inside the fuse box but any auto parts store will have them and they are included with fuse assortments they sell.
Once you are roaming around getting fuses and puller, consider buying a low-cost digital multimeter too. The parts stores have them or, if you are in the US, Radio Shack will too and don't spend more than $20 US at either, you don't need more meter than that for household use. If you are in the US, check the white pages for your area for Harbor Freight. If you have one, you can buy a meter there for <$10.
With meter, and fuse removed, set the meter to the resistance scale (Ohms) and the lowest setting, generally 200. Check across the metal blades of the fuse and if the meter display shows something close to zero (typically they will show test lead resistance of .2-.6 on the display if the two leads are held together), the fuse is OK. If the display just blinks at you as it does with nothing connected to the meter leads, the fuse is open (blown).
The fuses are color coded but make sure that the value of the fuse (from your newly purchased handy assortment) is the same as your old one unless it is something under 10 Amps. If it is, use a 10 amp fuse as the replacement.
And remember, smoking kills - (us).

To remove fuse grasp with needle nose pliers or tweezers and pull out. Hold the fuse up and if there is a dark place inside or you can see that the wire inside is burnt in two the fuse needs replaced.

2014 Nissan Sentra cigarette lighter not charging. How do i check or Fix problem?

Does your cigar lighter work? If so maybe something wrong with your charger?

My wiring database won't have anything on a vehicle this new. So I can't track the cigar lighter wiring circuit. Check your fuse box lid, see if it has a label for which fuse does what, then check the cigar fuse. I looked at your owners manual, not any help. Hopefully your fuse box is labeled.

You could go to your local dealer ship, talk to the service department, see if they will give you a print-out of your fuse box, so you will know which fuse does what.

99 malibu inop radio fix

Stock radios have 2 fuses that run them.

Fuse 1 is usually labeled as Radio in the fuse box.

The 2nd fuse shares circuits with other devices that are powered straight off of the battery, so look and see if your dome light works, and your cigarette lighter. If either of those aren't working, check the fuse for that item. Cigarette lighters are usually listed as Cigar in the fuse box, and dome light is usually CTSY or Courtesy.

Where is the cigarette lighter fuse located

In the Fuse Box, it is Fuse 2, 25A
I believe the Fuse Box is located under the dash/glove box.

there could be no screw, maybe clippers holds that. try pull the frame with hand to unclip, could be bad connection in back of cigar lighter or bad wiring

Lighters in my 95 ford windstart not working

in the inside fuse box check fuse 22, this is for the rear cigar/powerpoint socket, also check fuse 28, this fuse is for the front cigar lighter, there is good chance that both fuses are blown, u will need a 15 and 20 amp standard fuse to replace them.

The cigar lighter isn't working how do I fix this problem

This is a fuse problem, check the fuse, it will either be marked lighter or power point, the fuse box is to the left of the steering column it has a plastic cover over it, inside the cover the fuses will be marked on a diagram. If the fuse blows again the cigar lighter is shorted, you will have to replace it, most times the lighter element is the problem and not the well it fits into.
