that sounds like a fuel delivery problem. either the filter is clogged or the pump is not delivering the right pressure. i assume you have no check engine light. this would not set one but other problems like sensors would. being 11 yrs old i would not be surprised if the fuel pump was worn out. good luck
Try cleaning the MAF sensor (mass airflow sensor) with some spray brake parts cleaner, let air dry and reinstall. The sensor is located in the airflow duct system leading into the carburetion area and has a wire connection hooked to it. My cousin had this problem on his 2000 4 runner but had to end up replacing his, about $80. Will spin the rear tires now.
hi emissionwiz is more than likley to be correct the sensor not going to be chaging so much if it won,t rev over 2000 [no revs no increase in air flow ] if emissionwiz soloution doesn,t work try looking at ignition sensors as it may be affecting the timming best of luck yates210456
yes checked fuel pressure and replaced the fuel filter, checked the mapp sensor, tested throttle position sensor, has strong spark, 50psi fuel pressure, fresh tune up, runs real rich and rough idle but wont rev up like fuel injectors arent speeding up, also checked exhaust. thanks julius
Check your fuel filter and engine air filter. Sounds like your engine cannot breath or is not getting the proper amount of fuel to run well. Possibly also check your fuel pressure regulator. Justin Strictly Saab Melbourne, FL
