Question about 1987 Volkswagen Golf

1 Answer

1987 Volkswagen Golf - tach light out, no power to radio/CD player

The light went out on the tachometer, and there was no more power to the radio/CD player (an aftermarket Clarion unit) at the same time or about the same time.
Physically, these two things are fairly close to each other.
All the fuses in the fuse box (under the dash on the left) are good.
Is there a fuse connected to the Clarion in the dash? How do I get in there without the special Clarion removal tools?
How do I get to the light behind the tach?

Could be just a blown bulb for the tachometer.check the wiring behind the radio .you may have to get special tools to remove the radio in any car parts/stereo store

CD Player addition

You shouldnt have any problems unless you disconnect the battery. Also if you havent purchased the unit yet i can get you a good deal on a brand new factory add on. I work at VW and have about ten instock that were ordered in error. I can also get you the code if you need it but I need the serial numbers on the side of the radio. Let me know
