The other post is right. Most likely the blower motor resistor is bad. Same thing happened to me. Go to your dealer parts counter and ask for a new one. They cost about 8 bucks. Disconnect your battery if you want. The part is located behind your glove box. Simply open your glove box door and the whole thing should pop right off the hinges. Behind that you'll see where your resistor plugs in against the fire wall. Remove the two bolts and swap out for the new one.

Air/fan/heat only works on high in 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, or it will start again if I open and slam shut my glove compartment.

Check the blower motor speed dropping resistor pack and it's connections. It is located in the ducting airflow of the blower motor.

Air conditioner only works while moving. The AC stops cooling when stopped and idleing. Anyone know what causes this?

Your freon level is low, and not circulating on slow compressor speeds. Stop by any shop that has a sign stating they work on a/c and they can recharge it for you in a few minutes. Here where I live they charge about $20.00 labor plus a charge for the freon they put in, they sell it by the pound.

Heating and air conditioning

The blower motor works on high setting ONLY when the blower resistor is bad. The blower motor resistor is held in place with 2 screws and attached into the heater housing under the right side of the dashboard. You can identify the resistor by the big wires that are connected to the connector. If this heating/cooling system is the auto temp type, the part is a bit high on the price.

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.
