I know of ony 1 issue of noise for your suspension, most times the noise comes from the sway bar bushing, it is a squeak, is the kinda noise you hear? it is worse when the car is cold.

I have a BMW 320 ci but When you receive MOT advisory note reading; Front (both)suspension arm has slight play in a pin/bush. I cannot understand this- could you please explain this to me and is it a bit...

The person to explain the exact meaning of these vague notes is the person who tested your car.
The alternative is to have that part of the car checked again.

The fact these were advisory items means whatever is wearing or showing signs of deterioration is not likely to affect the safe operation of the vehicle in normal use and is unlikely to do so in the near future.

If you required the ultimate in high speed driving and precision handling you might notice a certain lack of predictability in the driving of your car but otherwise such slight amounts of wear is likely to do no more than increase noise levels slightly and perhaps shorten tyre life a little, though perhaps not even these things.

I hope this helps.

Front tire ware and noise

We have been going there for close to 80 years

Front Suspension parts wear & on & on, same things
every time

Not putting air in your tires every couple months
Not rotating tires twice a year
No suspension inspection once a year

When you get noise & tire wear, your not on your game
at all--- what about the noise-wheel hub bearings ????

Have to get involved & make the required inspections & repairs

Nothing on any attempt to find & correct it

Noise from my 2001 dodge grand caravan. Sounds like a suspension noise

90% of front suspension noise on caravans is sway bar bushings and sway bar links.Next is upper strut bearings.

I've had problems with wear to the inside of my tyres. New bushes fitted a year ago but have already perished ! Is this a common problem? and what is the best fix?

Alot of German cars require a 4 wheel alignment. Also have springs and suspension looked over, weak springs or overload/capacity will give similar symptoms and wear bushings out prematurely.

Hello, my car has recently failed its MOT on the offside (drivers) ball joint and was wondering if you could please help me. I've heard bad things about the garage i am using and i am therefore doubtfull...

Ball joints can have wear without producing any noise. Even slight wear will be classed as an MOT failiure because ball joints are a critical component. The only way to check if the work has been done is to inspect the car afterwards. A new ball joint should stand out because it will be spotlessly clean. If you turn the steering fully to the right the ball joints may be visible or they may be obscured by the wheels. It is much easier to see them when the car is on a ramp. If you have not had the work done yet you could ask another garage or tyre fitter to check the ball joint for you. It is advisable to have your tracking checked after changing a ball joint. Some tyre companies will check the tracking for free and charge only if they have to adjust the tracking. Hope this helps.

Dodge Ram popping noise front left (drivers side) suspension

My father had this problem on a car years ago and I have see others have it also . The poping noise is often for a ball joint and then the wheel just falls off. Have the ball joints inspected for excessive wear

Growning noise from the rear

a way to tell where it is coming from is to have someone put your car in drive and slowly pull forward until you hear the sound again and see if you can tell where it is coming from.
