Question about 1994 Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

Second generation no speedo no tack

Read a lot on the subject but still confused. My 94 grand SE has the tach and speedo independent from the rest of the gauges.Say 50% of the time the tach and speedo stay at 0 at start.More often when it rains.
My question; Is this the same situation as the no gauge syndrome. If so how to remove the dashboard to get to the soldering part.Found a lot on the 3rd generation but limited info on the second.

If you have an after-market radio, suspect the CHASSIS GROUND CONNECTION for the instrument cluster.
Also, check all fuses to be sure it isn't a blown fuse.

My 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix runs good for about 5 min. Then the tack goes wild and the car starts to try to quit. No check engin lite and no codes.

It could be the crankshaft position sensor. I have a 2001 Grand Prix, and when the crankshaft position sensor went out, the tach would drop to zero, and the car would act like it wanted to stall for about a second.

Everything works on dash but clock speedo and tack could a speed sensor fix the problem

no, because the tach uses a different sensor than the speedo. You probably have a connector issue. Is the clock on the same panel? See if you can reach behind and push on the connector. If you want wiring diagram, let me know and I'll see if I can find it.

Have a 1996 grand am se the dash gages were working now gas/temp/speedo/tack are not working but all warning lites still work all fuses and relays r in good shape if u have some thing alse that i can try...

the airbag module gets corroded and shorts out the data stream. I would start by removing passenger seat and lift carpet to access module underseat. unplug module and look for corrosion slime or salt, damage. with module unplugged the turn car on and see if all is working. if it is still doesn't work then the cluster board needs to be replaced.

Power windows will not work gauges speedo and tach all read o when drivers door is closed when opened all work properly on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee

Check the dash for proper grounding and also check the door harness where it passes through the boot for breaks or shorting. The door may be completing the body ground through the latch.

94 jeep 5.2l no fire on some of the plugs

one of the coil packs is bad or the ignition driver may even have a bad lead wire..swap a couple leads,be careful not to mix them up and see if the spark moves to a different plug.
