Will not start

Engine cranks fine, ran fine yesterday parked it overnight and would not start this morning, I had previously replaced in line filter under passengers side several months ago this morning after cranking several times I noticed a slight fuel leak there, hoses appeared tight but a small amount of fuel dripping i replaced in line fuel filter with a new one still will not start now though when I initially crank it it sounds like it is going to start but it doesn't quite make it

Potential water in line. Red, plastic bottle of Gas treatment first. STP gas treatment highly rec. Definitely make sure you do not have any more gas leaks since the system relies on pressure. Any loss in pressure results in loss of fuel to injectors/carb. Start with the gas treatment first... go from there. Sounds retarded but believe me, this has helped countless people... including myself multiple times.

Afterwards, you will need to think on terms of electrical ignition problems:

HV coil

HV coil wire

clogged filter or reversed direction filter [recheck even though it is new]

It sounds like you are talking about a diesel engine as gas engines are self priming. Lift pump or primer pump may be defective. Check for loose fittings or lines and damaged o-rings at filter housing. Sounds like you are sucking air somewhere.

1994 Camry won't start. Have replaced the fuel

Sounds like a relay or sensor. It could be the Crank Shaft Position Sensor which is usually the culprit.
Do you have any check engine lights on? If so, then I would have codes read right away to determine exact problem location

1997 mpv mini van runs great. While traveling i drove from SC to Atl GA....parked and went into motel for evening...the next morning i had very difficult time getting it re started....Like it was not...

I think you should check your battery and alternator. If they both check good you may have a battery draw, something draining the battery over night.Check your doors make sure they are closing like they should.

I have a 2002 VW TDI with 140,000 miles, but engine was rebuilt after broken timing belt, and trans was replaced under warranty at 98,000 miles. My problem is that the engine cranks eight or nine times...

Hello, I have something that might help you. If you know where your fuel line goes into the engine. I would let it sit overnight and then take the line loose. Then hold the fuel line into a bucket and have someone turn on the key in the car. This should tell you how fast you are getting fuel up to your engine. Your problem sounds alot like its not getting gas up to the engine fast enough. I would check these things:

1. Fuel Filter
2. A bent or crimped gas line. (From Engine Rebuild)
3. You could even have a blockage in your tank ventilation. This would cause a vapor lock not allowing the fuel pump to work properly.

Outside of a fuel issue from your previouse history It could be still in your timing. If you find my information helpful please rate me and have a great weekend! :>)
