The alarm will arm itself when I haven't even armed it with my keyless remote. The LED is flashing quickly with small pauses inbetween cycles of flashing.

I have the same exact problem.

  • DaNrOx48 Feb 01, 2009

One of my neigbours has the same problem, more or less. His alarm goes off, and stays sounding in 21 second bursts, with a 3 second gap in between each burst. He then, after a while (admittedly, this is usually in the morning) gets in his car, reverses, drives forwards and repeats until it stops. if it goes again he repeats it too. After browsing i came across this. I haven't approached him yet to see if it might solve the problem, but try it, see if it works.

Is this a factory alarm? if so there is no reset, you must follow a certain procedure outlined in the owners manual.

It is giving you a trouble code, you will need to consult the dealer for info about the code definitions. The system is no arming itself, the light is telling you it has a failed part.

There is a blinking red led light under lower left side of driver and steering wheel attached to dash. It blinks ALWAYs!!!

This is most likely your "Valet" alarm disable switch. Use to disable your car alarm so you can keep your Alarm Fob and let a Valet, mechanic, friend etc. operate the car without the alarm being functional. If it is an after market alarm, consult the mfg's manual, if OEM contact dealer for operating instructions.

Fuel Cut off Switch on a 2005 Hyundai Accent

One of two places. Look in trunk bolted to fender well, you will have to pull back carpet. OR On passenger side kick panel under dash. Basiclly if you were sitting in pass seat it would be right next your right foot again pull back carpet.
either place the switch will be a push/reset button.

Alarm Issues

I have been having this same issue for the past 6 months. So far no one can give me an answer that solves the problem. I have done several things unsuccessfully 1) changed the battery (still happens) 2) flipped the valet toggle switch under the steering column (still happens) 3) I lock the doors using the automatic lock button on the driver and/or passenger door (the alarm will not self-activate and go off, but this still doesn't solve the root problem with the alarm)

2005 Hyundai Sonota 2.4GL no sound when alarm triggerred.

Mine acts the same way. I found that it doesn't alarm unless you trigger the alarm. Be sure to check that the alarm fires correctly as mine didn't and they covered this under warranty.
