Check engine light came on. scan said was O2 sensor. replaced O2. after trying to reset computer using scanner and disconnecting battery terminal, check engine comes back on after driving a few. code

The problem has to be fixed first.
The code probably did not say "replace sensor" but rather that the signal from the sensor was out of range.
The real problem could be the fuel system or other things.
What is the actual trouble code and vehicle info ?

I already replaced front 02 sensor and still have 02 sensor codes

I'm pretty sure there are FOUR O2 sensors on my 2002 Escape. Two on the drivers side and two on the passenger side. At least that is what Auto Zone told me. Take the vehicle there and have them run a diagnostic. My #2 sensor on the passenger side was bad. You might also try disconnecting the negative battery cable and see if the check engine light goes out. That should also reset the computer and you may no longer get the code.. Then again, I could all wet.

The check engine light comes on and it dies on occasion. It is intermittent. Had it scanned and was told the only fault was mass air flow sensor. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor, replaced fuel filter and...

Anytime you make a change to any part of the emissions system, its best to disconnect the
battery for a few minutes. If you don't, the computer retains the fault code and it will usually keep
coming back. When all power is lost to the computer, it will do a complete scan when reconnected
and engine started. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnect and see what happens.

Check engine came on I replaced the o2 sensor. check engine light

You need to know what codes you have stored
Your O2 Sensor, may not be the problem, even though you get an O2 Code. That may just be the symptom

Check engine light on after OXYGEN SENSOR FIXED, which was the reason the engine light was on at all. But now its been fixed and reset and the light comes on! What the problem???

Can't solve that here What codes do you still have? Who did the O2 R&R,and was it okey for awhile? You may not have an O2 issue, even though you get the codes. A Misfire will set a lot of unrelated codes on some vehicles

I hope you understand that codes, do not tell you what is wrong or what to replace. They can be sensors out of range over a period of time and the PCM sets a code, so you can check things out.
Even a mechanical issue, could appear as sensor failure
Was the correct sensor replaced?

What makes "check engine" light come on

a code stored in the computer will tell you what system triggered the check engine light.
The most common is an o2 sensor or evap code set off by a loose or faulty gas cap.after the vehicle is started about 50 times with no fault the light will go out.You can disconnect the battery for 1 minute and reset the computer, and unless the fault is still there, the check engine light will not come back on.Before you do this make sure you have the radio code handy, disconnecting the battery will lock out the radio on most new vehicles.
