I have the same problem on my 2003 Santa Fe. I bought a new switch but didn't know how to remove the switch. Thanks.

take off the round center part of the knob and then take the screws out of the dash by the ash tray. pull entire knob assy off and then there is on screw in the back holding the fan control switch in, remove it and twist until switch comes out. Then unplug the main wire and the small one for the light and replace new swithch. PS, I have installed about 15-16 switches in my 05 in the past 2 years. I got pretty good at it and now it takes me about 3 minutes to change one...good luck...

Don't.  What you have to do is take the ashtray out then remove the 2 screws.  Pry the whole assembly off and replace the switch in the back. The knob only moves the switch back and forth and nothing more.

To remove the knob after disconnecting the switch you have to put it on fan speed two. This aligns the grooves and you can pull it straight off with a little effort. If you replace the switch, this is the final step before putting the new one on.
If your switch goes, spend a little extra and buy the resistor too. Auto Zone carries both for under $75.

Blower Motor only works on high and resistor changed

sounds like it's the switch; but it is important to see whether the fan spins freely or else the switch or resistor block will fail again. the most common reason for these failures is that the motor drags and pulls too many amps, thus overheating the connectors and wires.

My blower runs on high for awhile but only works when I fiddle with the knob what is the problem?

It sounds like you have two issues.
The fan only runs on high because you have a bad resistor for the fan motor. ( the high speed is the only speed that doesn't run through the resistor.

I believe you also have a bad fan speed switch.

I hope this helps you.

Heater fan only works on hight. 2004 hyundai santa fe

This problem is related to faulty blower motor resistor. The resistor is the part which controls the blower motor to work on required speeds. But if resistor fails then motor will work normally but will not work on selected speed like slow and medium .In this case replacing the resistor should help.To locate the resistor open your glove box and roll it all the down take off the panel in behind the resistor will be top right hand side. This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

You will have to replace the blower motor. It's about $150 to have done (I just had this done on my Santa Fe this week).

I have a 2004 santa fe, the A/C blower only works on high. There is power from the control head to under the dash, but where it goes into the fan there is no power except for when it is on high

How about when the heat is on? You might have 2 reostats, one for heater one for A/C.The reostat controls blower speed Most cars only have one ,but who knows seen stranger thjngs,I have had bad blower motors only work on high.My guess would be a reostat.

To remove the knob, put it on the second speed setting and pull! Center piece and outer knob will pop right off. Found the answer elsewhere and it ought to be here too.
