I have the same problem, i have bought a new battery and sure enough within 2 weeks once the new one drained a little the problem has come back, my alternator is charging the battery, and it is enough to start the car and run everything, then next morning the car will be dead again, although some days its fine, so it is intermittant which makes it even harder to find the drain. does anyone have any ideas? if i unplug the battery each night, and leave it connected to and from work, it will continue to work, its just while i leave it attached to the car!

    thanks for any advice.
    Ben.

Sounds like a earth fault, or have you changed the stereo? sometimes the power leads get mixed up. can be difficult to trace sometimes

Vauxhall Astra 1.8 Sri turns over not starting brake lights jammed on coil pack seems ok no fault codes in system

Ok may be more than one fault here
Firstly the brake lights may be down to a fulty brake light switch
this is under the brake pedal.
Secondly the Starting issue could be several things
Fuel cut off switch engaged
Faulty spark plugs
Sticking/faulty starter motor
Fuel filter blocked (common reason for non starting and doesent give a fault code).
Fuel pump faulty or faulty/loose wiring at pump
Unlikley to be anything to do with the ecu as it turns over and no fault codes.

Why am I only getting 5.5volts at the passenger side break light on my 2008 Vauxhall corsa 1.6 sri

most likely that a ground connection is missing or something along those lines.
does it read 5.5 with the bulb installed?
try grounding it directly to the chassis or batterie.

1997 park ave battery dies over night

I just posted my experience in another place on this site but on my 1992 PA the accessories relay stuck closed. This relay is the one that allows you to listen to the radio etc and keep things on until you open the door then all shuts off. When it is stuck closed accessories keep running until your battery drains dead. The relay was replaced and all worked great.
