Sensor is in the coolant jug on right side of car. you will see a plug on bottom of tank this is sensor. A lot of times you can smack the jug a few times and this will jar the sensor it gets stuck sometimes. or pull off tank and clean out.

How do I change a coolant sensor on a 1996 Z34 Monte Carlo?

Usually the sensor is in the bottom of the overflow tank or on the side of the radiator.

Low coolaant light is blinking but there is coolant in it, not running hot . Help!

This vehicle is equipped with a low radiator coolant sensor. They will give this symptom when known to be defective. Check coolant level to confirm coolant is full. Usually can be checked by unplugging to see if blinking goes out to see if its gone bad. Good luck.

I need to replace the coolant sensor on my 1998 Z34 Monte Carlo. Where is it loacted and how do I do it?

Should be located on the top of motor. May bre next to thermostat. Drain some coolant from bottom of radiator. Use liquid teflon for thread sealant.

disconnect sensor at source, usually at the radiator. if you see a connection on radiator, that's the one

Low coolant light, low oil and check engine light

Most likely it is the sensor, it is located on the radiator near the battery, it will stay off if you unplug it, Check the fuses and relays though just to make sure, oil pressure sensor possibly but again check fuses

Low coolent light comes on. When fluids are checked everything looks good. yet the light continues to come on any sujestions?

If top off on coolant you have a coolant level sensor that's starting to go bad, the sensor sit on the side of the radiator' plastic tank on the radiator on the passenger side, square looking, napa stock's this, part # FLS614
same part for 3.1L and 3.8L engine, to check to see if it is defective when coolant light on disconnect sensor and if light goes off bad sensor, good luck, hope this was very helpful.

Flush radiator on 1999 monte carlo had to put new radiator, hoses, thermostat filled up radiator, flushed again, coolent light flashes on and off or sometimes it doesnt come on at all, coolent level is...

You have to bleed the coolant system. There are some bleeder screws, with hex heads on them.Hold the bottom nut and gently loosen the top until water and air flow, with the system not running. When the air is not present, tighten back down gently. If the air won`t bleed out, then fill the coolant reservoir over the full mark about 3/4 way full.Make sure radiator is full, and start engine with ac off.Let it run befor it bubbles or gets too hot, turn engine off,and let it set for about 35 to 45 minutes.Check coolant reservoir to see if the coolant level has dropped. It should have dropped,if so repeat until the reservoir stops loosing fluid. The fans should come on,and go off by them selves. When this happens, then the cooling system is perfect. This I hope helps, please let me know the outcome.roniecon@gmail.com

Monte carlo 01 runs hot, says low coolant but its full

Thermostat is probably stuck closed... Run the car with the cap of the bottle or radiator and see if it starts to circulate when it gets hot... Be careful though because it can over heat and have no coolant flowing.. And also watch for spewing fluid if it get hot at the place you took the cap off.... The low coolant could also mean the radiator is not full but the bottle is... Check for a restriction from the bottle to the radiator.. If you see a sensor on the bottle it could be bad... But That won't cause it to over heat. It'll just say low coolant because the switch is stuck.
Also does the fan come on while it's getting hot?
If not that could be the reason for the overheating.. And the coolant level sensor could be bad telling you it's low
Cap off look for circulation of antifreeze.
At the same time before it over heats make sure fan is coming on. No fan on? Fan fuse or relay could be bad... Also maybe a wire.
No circulation? Thermostate stuck or restriction in coolant hose...Line... Radiator..... And worse case scenario the water pump might be bad.
The low level I wouldn't worry about. Find out why it's over heating first.
