Question about 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser
I have just bought a Toyota land cruiser VX limited 1998 (England model) with 4.2 ltr turbo diesel engine. I have a problem with it. In city driving i have no problem in starting the engine but on highway after driving at sustained high speeds when I turn it off at a rest stop it refuses to start immediately. After I use the air release pump provided at the diesel filter assembly the engine starts. Any solutions ?
Take off the black plastic that covers the fuel pump.(It is atached to the engine on the left side). There is a grey conector that hooks to the return valve of the pump. It gets hot and looses contact, stoping the engine. There is a factory recall to replace that conector. You can fix it for the moment by umpluging it and twisting a litle the pins with a needle plyer.
