Your best bet would to be remove the inner door panel, and remove the lock/handle assembly. Take the lock/handle to a professional locksmith; he will replace the internals of the lock to match your existing key. You cannot "buy" a lock cylinder that will match your key; it has to be assembled to match the key that you have.

How do I reset the security system? The system will not allow the car to start. I have tried turning the key in the passenger door, and it still not start.

I dont know what turning the key in the passenger door is supposed to do? turn ignition key on and let it set for 10 minutes, the anti theft light should go out, and the car start. if not you will need a shop to check it out. the number one issue is the ignition cylinder cant read the key because the wires are broken. it may need a new lock cylinder.

Describe how to replace a 96 camry rear passenger door power lock actuator

You will need to remove the door panel, mounted inside the door you will find the lock actuator, it should have a rod connecting attached to the lock cylinder, also there should be an electrical connector. Disconnect the rod and the electrical connector and remove actuator from the door.

96 Toyota Camry keys are not working to open locked door from outside. First the passenger side and now the driver's side door.

Try spraying some silicon lubricant into the keyhole and slide the key in and out a few times.

If this does not work you may have to remove the interior door panel and trouble shoot the lock mechanism.

It's also possible the lock cylinders are worn and need to be rebuilt. This can be done by a qualified locksmith (look for a AAA certified locksmith). Or you can order new lock cylinders and get them re-keyed to match your ignition key.

1994 Jeep Cheerokee Laredo: The remote keyless

If it is a factory alarm you can't unhook it. Replace the switch attached to the lock cylinder inside the door. In the meantime, the switch on the passenger door may still be good. Cycle the key in the passenger door to see if it turns off the alarm.

My volkswagen cabriolet wont start after the alarm was trigger!

Put the key into the driver's door lock cylinder, turn it to unlock twice (don't turn it to the lock position). This should reset it. If not, then repeat the process in the passenger door lock cylinder

Golf won't unlock?

Go to a VW dealer and purchase a new lock cylinder. Normally it the little tip at the end of the cylinder has broken off. If you want to keep the old keys you may have to take the parts from the new cylinder and exchange them with the old one. make sure you number the lock pins first and keep them in order, other wise it will not work. I've done it for my VW and I am not a machanic. Joe
