The fuel pump relay is the most likely cause of your problem. On most Civic's it is under the dash near the stearing column. The solder connections on the relay become bad. You can replace it or repair the connections. If this helps let me know.

I have a 91 nissan maxima and it runs find for about 15-20 min. and it truns off. I wait a few min. and it runs for an other 15-20min. and turns off. can any one help me. thanks Mr. Garcia

Sounds like an overheating component. If there is not a "check engine" light on in the dash, then you have a bad part which is not monitored by the onboard computer.

Sometimes Relays will overheat, other times a bad fuelpump will easily do this. When the exhaust starts to heatup, the feedback from the O2 sensors can reset the fuel mix and stall an engine.

About all you can do is check the test port on the fuel rail for fuel pressure when it stalls out. A pressure gauge may be borrowed from Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys tool programs.

You can get a electric diagram and fusebox layout by registering your car on Then the print out is free. A fuelpump relay or ignition relay may cure it. Check your horn relay for an emergency relay if it is the same part number on its case as the fuel relay then test by switching relays.

2000 chev silverado stopped running

Then your problem is electrical, make a tool if you replaced the relay open the cover of that relay, there you will expose the mechanical contact of the relay stick it back in its socket trun the key on and make the relay make contact the fuelpump should go on.If it does the problem will reside in the ignition switch electrical,if it doesnt check the ECM bat fuse.should be 20 amps.

For the 1998 s10 theres no fuelpump switch, there is a fuelpump relay. the relay is in the engine compartment inside the fuse/relay box. the relay will be labeled on the inside cover of the fuse/relay box cover. besides the relay the only other problem for a fuelpump not working on these trucks is the fuelpump is bad or the wiring connector to the pump is bad.

I have a 2004 freestar that wont start.changed fuel pump still wont start.pump wont run!

Hello, If you have not checked your Inertia switch it shuts off the fuelpump and may need to be Reset. It should be in the RH side of the jack compartment. You just push and hold a button on the switch and then the fuelpump should work.

The Inertia switch is a safety device and can trigger when a door or hatch is closed hard enough to simulate a crash. You also can have a Relay in the Powerbox which may be labeled. Try the Inertia switch first and if it does not help, then change the Fuelpump Relay.

I have replaced the fuel pump amongst a lot of other things. I can spray gas or starting fluid in the throtal body and it will run rough untill the fumes ware out. Its a 1995 ford explorer 4x4 xlt

If you hear the fuelpump operate the first 1 or 2 seconds when the key is turned to RUN position, the fuelpump is working. If you do not hear the fuelpump run, check the Inertia switch which should be in the side panel of the rear cargo area. If you have an owners manual check for the Inertia switch location.

To reset the Inertia switch, hold the button on it for 2-3 seconds. You should now hear the pump run. You may also have a fuelpump relay under the hood in one of the Powerboxes. The Powerbox may have a fusible link from the Battery. When the fusible link is OK and the Pump Relay is OK, there is a fuse in the Fuse panel. Then finally the Ignition switch will trip the Pump relay. As power flows through the wire to the fuelpump the Inertia switch can break the power connection.

So you have 5 powerpoints before the fuelpump will work. Fusible link, Pump Relay, Fuse Panel, Ignition Switch, and Inertia switch. These must all work before the fuelpump can run.

Fuel pump not getting power checked fuses and relay and fuel pump is relay board bad

Check in the trunk on the drivers side for an opening in the carpet. There can be 2 switches and 1 is for the Air ride and the other is a fuelpump safety switch. The safety switch is called an "Inertia switch" and it has a push button for Reset. Just hold the button down for 3 seconds and it will reset.

Then turn on the Ignition and you should hear the fuelpump run for a few seconds. It should be ready to start. If the Inertia switch was tripped it is made to kill the fuelpump upon impact. Slamming a door or the trucklid can make it kill the fuelpump.

Engin truns over but no fule to engin

Check your Inertia switch. This is a safety switch that has a reset button you hold for 3 seconds to reconnect the fuelpump. It is meant to stop the fuelpump in a wreck. Sometimes closing the trunk or a door will trip them.

Usually they are mounted in the trunk area of the car or inside the kickpanels up front.
