I have the same truck I rebuilt, it, took 2 years. Its on car domain.com. heres the link.http://www.cardomain.com/id/Marine4x4

The problem is with the wire going to the starter, the relay telling the starter to work. it will get loose or caroded, check that first, it sounds like your problem. Good Luck!!

Try by putting the key in the on posistion. then remove the S terminal wire on the starter. take a wire and touch the S terminal on the starter with one end and touch the positive Batt terminal. i should crank the engine over. if not than just send me a message at off-roader_4X4@hotmail.com and i can probably give you some more possible solutions

I would try the starter first. kinda hard to tell without hearing it but try having someone hit the starter while you try to start or take starter off and have checked. thats what i would do first

Need a key for 1985 Nissan pickup

You should be able to give the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to the dealer of a good locksmith and have them make you a key. It should be located on the dash drivers side where you can see it through the glass.

1985 dodge w350 with 360 ci engine,no spark, replaced coil, cap ,rotor, pickup unit ,ignition module, could it be ignition switch? acts like it wants to fire when i wiggle ignition with key

could be if the engine is not getting voltage from the ignition switch. take a test light and check for battery voltage at the coil and module when you turn the switch on.

I hve a 1985 toyota 2wd 22r eng will not start with key but can push start trying to figer out how to put a starter button in it, but need to know the wires i need to hook to the switch, what colors and...

At the back of the ignition barrel ,one wire will always be live and as you turn the key the others will power up but the one that goes to the starter will power uo momentarily and that will be at the final stage of your turn.pick power up from the accessory wire and hook it up to a spring switch and jump that to the starter wire.

My 85 nissan pick-up has 2 coils, one has no spark

Answer: Your truck’s ignition system should "fire" both coils during normal operating conditions. On full acceleration, it "cuts" one coil out. All this is controlled by the PCM (computer). You could possibly have faulty wiring also.

95 Nissan won't turn over, battary is good, actng

CHECK FOR LOOSE IGNITION SWITCH BEHIND THE KEY YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE THE SCREWWS HOLDING THE STERRING COLUMN COVER ON, ALSO OTHER THINGS IT COULD BE WOULD BE YOUR NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH OR THE STARTER RELAY AND FINALLY THE STARTER? YOU WOULD NEED A TEST LIGHT TO DIAGNOSIS? ONE THING YOU COULD TYR IS REMOVING FUSE/RELAY COVER UNDER HOOD AND SWAPPING THE STARTER RELAY WITH A SIMILAR ONE IN THE BOX ? IF IT STARTS THEN THE RELAY IS BAD ? GOOD LUCK

Doesn t start

Had the same problem, took it ti nissan service centres 3 times, kept replacing stuff no solution. took it to an independant mechanic, said the voltage that the ignition is sending through to the starter is too high & added a voltage control relay into the wiring.no problem since.
