Stop burning up your engines. cars shouldn't use any oil, it is either being burnt, which is not good, or leaking onto the ground, which means you'll have no problem finding the problem, it is right above the puddle in your driveway

How many miles on your vehicle ? Do you see any leak spots on the ground from the truck ? Blue exhaust , oil burning , valve guide seals , piston rings , PCV clogged .

Oil Consumption Diagnosis
Checks
Causes
Excessive oil consumption, not due to leaks, is the use of 1 L (1 qt) or more of engine oil within 3 200 kilometers (2,000 miles).
Preliminary
The causes of excessive oil consumption may include the following conditions:
• External oil leaks
Refer to Oil Leak Diagnosis .
• Incorrect oil level or improper reading of the oil level indicator
With the vehicle on a level surface, run the engine for a few minutes, allow adequate drain down time, 2-3 minutes, and measure for the correct engine oil level.
• Improper oil viscosity
Refer to the vehicle owners manual and use the recommended SAE grade and viscosity for the prevailing temperatures.
• Continuous high speed driving and/or severe usage
• Crankcase ventilation system restrictions or malfunctioning components
Refer to Crankcase Ventilation System Inspection/Diagnosis .
• Worn valve guides and/or valve stems
• Worn or improperly installed valve stem oil seals
Refer to Spark Plug Inspection .
• Piston rings broken, worn, or not seated properly
Allow adequate time for the rings to seat.
Replace worn piston rings, as necessary.
Refer to Cylinder Leakage Test .
• Piston and rings improperly installed or not fitted to the cylinder bore
Refer to Lower Engine Noise, Regardless of Engine Speed

3.8 grand caravan 100000 miles. Uses 1 qt every 1500. 5-20 as suggested by manufacturer. Is this excessive?

I would say YES......Try buying a can of RESTORE. They make it in 4 cyl,6 cyl ,and 8 cyl . Each can is a different size. I have used this product ,and it hlpes. doesnt FIX,just addresses problem.Slows CONSUMPTION greatly.

How do you change the plugs on a 2003 mitsu gallant 4 cyl

Your coils and spark plug caps are one in the same. You need to unbolt the coil/plug caps on top of the valve cover. Lift them out of the way and you will find the spark plugs underneath.

'01 Durango R/T slight oil consumption. 1/4 - 1/2 Qt a month. about every 500-1000miles. Is this normal is signs that gaskets need replaced. If so what gaskets?

Anything over 1 quart in 1000 miles might be considered excessive. It probably is not gaskets unless there is a leak. If there is a leak there might be a puddle of oil on the ground where you park it. If there is a puddle or drips of oil look at valve cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets, crankshaft seals , etc.

What is normal oil consumption?

you may want to upgrade your oil to a thicker oil that helps alot more than people think its normal anywhere from 1qt to 1/2 a qt every 3000 miles that sounds pretty good and a healthy engine upgrade on brands and viscosity that should take care of that but it will burn more oil if the engine is being broken into for the first time if its brand new

Excess oil consumption (1 qt/wk)

You must be careful with the 90s mitsubishis as the oil used is important. If you use the cheaper types they tend to make the engine smoke and use excessive amounts. Also manufacturer grade of oil to be used is also important.Have you taken the spark plugs out to see if they have signs of oil burning on them?
