this may sound crazy but change the bulbs in the light that is up by spoiler and im sure the lights in dash will go off. the dash light and the rear spoiler light use the same ground. let me no if it worked or not.
Check your brake light switch at your brake pedal make sure that you have power coming in and then going out with pedal depressed if that is ok check for a faulty turn signal switch the brake lights run thru the switch on the hazard circuit.
Hi Charles, this is an easy one for you, open your trunk and pull carpet away from where the tail light is on the one you want out,you will see five plastic thumb nuts, you just remove them and pull the lens assembly out, remove the bulb you want to change by turning it counter clock wise.
Open your trunk, you will see 2 screws that retain the brake light lens. Pull the felt on the side down, and you will see 2 plastic snap in clips. Remove the 2 screws and then use a pair of pliers to compress the plastic snap in clips to release them. From there you can remove the lens and replace the bulbs.
I have not done one of these in a while, but I believe you open the tail gate and you will see two screws holding the lens in place. Remove the screws then the lens to access the bulbs.
Let me know.
ust take out sill panel on the rear body then remove the trim panel and then take out 4 bolts 10mm on thebackside of light then pull the light out then you can change the bulb/ Please rate my response thank you very much
hi from uk not too sure on elantra but will try to help? if car is hatchback ? lift up hatch and look at the water drain channel alongside lamp? if there are 3x screws? unscrew and lift lamp off then unclup bulb/lamp board from lens bulbs are bayonet fitting if saloon then open boot look to rear of lamp in boot for either clip on panel or carpet covering lamp rear remove and look for some kind of nylon head screw bolt/s or 10 mm nuts? that my hold the lamp in place to body? or you may ?find the bulb/lamp board is simply a clip in to the lens assy as 1st example ? in that case just unclip and change bulb/s with no need to remove lens assy with a little patience you will succeed hope this helps
