I have the same problem. It has drained my battery twice. I removed the fuse for the locks (#26) and the car ran fine for 5 days using the key to enter the car. Oct. 17th I didn't use the car and next day the battery was dead. Car is in the shop and they "think" it is some electronic chip that controls more than just the lock. They have to call the dealer. They think the dealer has to program the chip before they can install it. #1. I hope that is the answer. #2 I hope it is not expensive. Will let you know what happens. Should know on Oct. 20th, 2008.

The radio in a 2005 chevy cobalt in lock need it unlock

Mine does this frequently, however it usually unlocks after turning off the car and starting it again. Sometimes I also have to keep messing with the dial, turning the radio on and off. If there is a cd, I keep trying to eject it. It varies. If there is an exact way, I don't know.

CHevy cobalt door locks- lock and unlock while I am driving had key fob reprogrammed and it was ok for about two hours and started all over again. What can the problem be?

Could be a problem in the shiftier. Your car doors lock automatically when you put the car in drive. They unlock when you put the car in park. The switch located in the shiftier can go bad causing the locks to randomly lock and unlock. Also, this can cause the key to get stuck in the ignition.

My 2005 chevy cobalt factory radio is locked

There are only 2 things you can try to fix this yourself: turn off the engine and open the driver side door (to turn the radio off). Wait 5 minutes, start your car.
If that does not solve it, turn off your engine, disconnect the car battery, wait about 5 minutes. Reconnect the battery (negative pole first - black connector) and try your radio again.

If neither one of these two fix your problem, I am afraid only a GM service center or dealership can fix the problem. The Cobalt is notorious for all kinds of electrical issues.

Thanks for using the fixya forums!
