I have a Toyota Corolla Verso 1.8 T-Spirit. I've had this problem since I bought it. I've shown this it to many mechanics. Most mechanics will deny that there is a problem and proceed to tell me how I should hold the petrol nozzle so that the problem does not happen. I've stopped arguing with mechancis as they really are too stupid to accept that there is a technical problem if they don't know how to fix it. I've had Toyota look at it and when they finally accepted that there is a problem the only solution they would offer is to replace the petrol tank mechanism costing me over £1000. If somebody can advise the easiest and least expensive way of fixing the problem I would really appreciate it.

There is a vent tube that runs down into the tank, it is part of the fill pipe, it allows air to come out of the fuel tank while you fill it, they get kinked or otherwise restricted, that is the only thing that will cause this problem.
