Question about 1989 Toyota Corolla 2 Door
I need help trying to figure out why the car smells like gas fumes alot when i start it.I've been putting gas like every 10 miles and it just wont save me gas i recently fixed the catalylic converter.I cant seem to figure out what the problem is also when i turn the wheel all the way to the left or right the car turns off on Me can anyone help or guide me to see what may be the problem I'd appreciate it very much ! Thanks
One quick suggestion on why the car turns off when steered comletely left or right may be that the car is running low on power steering fluid. The power steering runs off a pump which is on a series of belts also connected to your idler pulley. When stress is put on the pump it causes rpms to drop and possibly to shut off if its low. some belts, pulleys, or power steering hoses may need to be replaced, as i had the same problem with my volkswagen.
as for the gas, you may want to check the exhaust for and leaks before the firewall.
