(have the radio off to begin) I unlocked mine by turning the ignition to position I, hold the 1 & 6 button at the same time, and while holding, turn on the radio. The code should appear. Then simply type in the number, the radio should come on. In my case, the last number was a zero. Since there was no zero key, I was thinking it wasn't going to work, but I only had to punch in the first 3 numbers, and the radio started. I am registered to XM, and that started working too.

The radio code came with the owners manual packet, it is a unique code for every radio to deter theft, you will have to pull the radio and get the model and serial number off the radio chassis, then go to the dealer and they can get that info for you. I am assuming you don't have the owners packet.

I need a code number of radio Honda Accord 1998 serial no.M97A189067

Nobody is supposed to have the complete database of codes, only authorised dealers. As a security measure, any time the battery is disconnected, the radio is Locked Out, and will not function until the security code is entered on the radio itself. Furthermore, after 3 tries, it wont even accept the code on the radio display, showing the ERR condition. Check for a sticker with the radio code inside the glove box. Some dealers fixed a second sticker in the owners manual. If not available, get the code from a Honda dealer, and be prepared to show VIN number, and proof of vehicle ownership. When you get hold of the code, disconnect the battery for 15 min. This will erase the ERR condition, and allow you to introduce the reactivation code.

My radio on my honda accord keeps showing code e, what does that mean?

Means that it is requesting the code (anti theft) to reactivate the radio. In all probability, the vehicle battery was disconnected and the anti theft tripped.

Replaced battery in 1996 Honda Accord which deactivated radio.

You need to code ..punch in code then power radio up and it will work. For a fee if its the original radio for this car the code can be retrieved by the dealer. If you entered to code incorrectly more than 4 times you will need to disconnect battery for 30 second and re-enter code. good luck and thanks for using FIX YA
