Question about 2005 Dodge Caravan
When engine is cold there is loud noise coming from top most idler pulley/belt area. seems to go away once engine is warm. as much as2or3hours later when started no noise. engine temp.and a/c operation are ok. 3.8 liter V6
I had the same problem and it was the alternator bearing, but before you replace it, make it sure it is the alternator, because it could be any bearing

Could be your alternator. at start up. alternator usually has a big load because you just use your starter. it would recharge the battery and after a while the battery would be fully charge, the squealing noise will be gone.
check also all the belts if they are individual belts. use some belt dressings to eliminate the noise. sometimes the belt are just worn out and it would also make these noises.
