Question about 2003 Nissan Maxima
You need to program it. Here is how you doit.
Step by step:
1- get inside and lock all door with the "power dool lock switch"
2- insert the key into the ignition 6 times "IN and OUT" nice and steady until your hazards flash on dashboard. You can just keep inserting the key until you see the hazards flash, but 6 times should do it / get you into the program mode.
3-once the hazards flash, turn the key to ACC position (dash light up, but car is not running)
4-press any button on the remote (hazards should flash)
5-turn key OFF
7-unlock door with "power door lock switch"
8-open door DONE.

What about the fuse to the alarm itself?
is it good?
if it is ok,
you may need to re-program your key to the mother unit.
try this solution, it is used by most alarms that we install, who knows it might work on what you got there.
turn the key on and off for 5 times. on the fifth time, leave the key to the on position, now press the lock button, then turn off your key. and then test your remote.
i hope it works.
