The thermostat is located where the lower radiator hose goes into the engine. I've had to replace mine, and it took a while to find it. I found the easiest way to get at it is to remove the power steering pump (hoses attached) and set it over to the side to get at the bolts on the thermostat housing.

Good luck!

this happens when bad stuff happens its part of the ECU system, make sure your heads are not destroyed before you keep cranking it over, check your timing, I found out the hard way, do you have two sets of keys close together, separate them and see if it disappears, you can also disconnect the battery terminals and touch the positive and negative leads together to perform a "hard reset"on the ECU BUT MAKE SURE YOUR TIMING IS CORRECT OR YOU WILL DAMAGE THE PISTONS AND BEND THE VALVES!!!!! like I did :(

The lower radiator hose goes to the thermostat. If you follow it, it connects to a metal pipe, then back to a hose and right to the thermostat housing. They are hard to change though. Took me 3 hours to change mine.

Sounds like it could be faulty fuel injectors. (unless of course, it's carburated, then it'd be a poorly adjusted float)
