Question about 2005 Nissan Altima

Speakers not working

Recently my stereo speakers have stopped working, however the receiver still turns on and is fully functional. This is a factory stereo system w/o a bose system.

I purchased a new aftermarket stereo thinking that the internal amp in the reciever had blown however when I installed the new one i have the same problem. The receiver turns on and is fully functional however there is no sound coming from the speakers.

Are there any trouble shooting tips or possible problems with fuses, wiring, etc?

I tried to follow the speaker wiring from the reciever to the speakers but did not see any loose connections or problems.

Do the speaker wires run directly from the reciever wiring harness to the speakers or are they terminated some where prior too?

If you had followed the directions correctly and the old speakers worked as well, take the new radio back for exchange

You have to unplug the old radio. The radio isn't the part in the dash. That is just the control to the radio. The radio is actually under the dash above the accelerator pedal. It should have the power wires, speaker wires and antenna wire going to it.

SOURCE: aftermarket stereo wiring harness does not fit oem

Theres a standard amongst most stereos, so if these colors apply, then you will be right,
Red is Ignition power
orange is direct power
Black is earth
blue is for phone
White is for electric arial
then there will be four coloured wires with matching color trace wires, these are the speaker wires.
Hope this gets you going, good luck.

Dodge infinity

The Infinity system includes a CD/cassette receiver or a CD receiver in the dash, and a complement of 7 speakers: 3-1/2" speakers in the dash (left, right), a 2-1/2" center dash speaker, two 6"x9" woofers in the front doors, and two 5-1/4" speakers in the rear doors. You'll have to remove a section of the dash to install a new stereo, as you do with the non-Infinity system. You'll need a special adapter to connect a new car stereo to the Infinity factory amp http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120CHTO02/Axxess-CHTO-02-Factory-Integration-Adapter.html?tp=3486

Rear speakers don't work

Sir,
I do not want to insult you in any way, but I must ask just in case it was overlooked! First check to be sure that the speaker settings on the stereo were not set all the way to the front. If that is not the problem, you can hook another speaker you know works to the wireing to the rear speakers to check to see if it is the speaker or the wireing. If you hear sound from the speaker you know works, then your speakers in the car are bad. If you do not hear sound, then it will be from the wireing. Next is the more difficult part. You will have to pull the stereo out and can splice into the wires. Hook the good speakers up to the splice and check for sound. make sure you know for sure the wires you splice into are for the rear speakers. If you still hear no sound, then it is more then likely a problem in the stereo itself. If you do hear sound then there is a problem in the wireing somewhere and may be easier to just run new wires to the rear speakers.
