Keyless entry & mystery key

Hi. I just purchased this vehicle today from a none Mercury dealer. First I was wondering if you could give me some insite on how to find the code for the keyless entry and how to activate it. Second, I found a key in the back storage area with a white sticker on it. This sticker had a 6 digit code on. When we put the key in the ignition, it turns everything on EXCEPT the engine. Any thoughts?

The spare key that you found could be a non-programmed key that the old owners used as a hide-a-key so that if a thief found it they still could not steal the car, have you tried the 6 digit code for the door? it's a long shot but who knows? a dealer would have a reset precedure but I do not have it, hopefully someone else will chime in and help you find that without having to go through the dealer

Purchased a keyless entry car without a key

Let me get this right, you purchased a car without a key for said vehicle to start the vehicle? First off I would worry if the vehicle is stolen or not. If the vehicle is not stolen, then you will have to take the VIN to a dealer and have a key cut and program the key to your car. This will cost you an arm and a leg for a $10 key. It is best to have a spare key in case of lose of the original, so be prepared to lose both your arms and legs.

Dealer gave me a shaved key works on starting ignition not on door lock the other three keys work on everything car doesn't have engine immoboliser removed the remote keyless entry fobs what is

Many times the dealer gives you a valet key made to give to the vet to park your car, these keys work even though the theft deterant system is active, but they will only work for short periods untill the theft system activates and imobolizes the vehicle. The system is reset when the valet brings your vehicle and you insert your normal (chiped) key.

Need keyless entry code 1998 mercury mountaineer. I need to know how to reset or determne the keyless code to get in.

If you have the Keys to the vehicle you can get in. Giving that code out will put other vehicle at risk. If you have a manual it will have the reset code in it. Try using the manual first if that does not work go the dealership.

How can i program my new keyless entry fob for my Isuzu Ascender

If it is a new key fob it will have to be programmed by the dealer.
This is the statement as listed in the owners manual for your vehicle.

Matching Transmitter(s) to Your Vehicle
Each remote keyless entry transmitter is coded
to prevent another transmitter from unlocking
your vehicle. If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a
replacement can be purchased through your dealer.
Remember to bring any remaining transmitters with
you when you go to your dealer. When the dealer
matches the replacement transmitter to your
vehicle, any remaining transmitters must also be
matched. Once your dealer has coded the new
transmitter, the lost transmitter will not unlock your
vehicle. Each vehicle can have a maximum of four
transmitters matched to it.
