pull out the headlight knob to put the headlights on then under the dash on the switch there is a button that needs to be depressed to pull the knob out of the switch. then on the front of the dash where you removed the knob there is a nut that requires removal then the switch assembly can be removed from the dash and lowered to disconnect the electrical plug. install in reverse order.

How to change the headlight switch without breaking the plastic pull knob

First off disconnect the negative battery cable, then pull the headlight knob towards you, turn the knob either way to spot the notch in the plastic knob.Take an 90 degree pick and place it inside that notch on the switch.Pull the pick towards you to remove the knob with ease. Then remove the two screws on the dash bezel and then remove the bezel.Next, remove the headlight mounting nut for the switch. Then pull the switch thru the dash and remove the pigtail from the switch.Install is reverse of disassembly.Hope this tip helps!!

My renault clio headlights and dash keeps switching on and off

    • 1 Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels by turning them one-quarter turn counterclockwise using a tire wrench. Do not unseat the wheel from the wheel hub. The only reason for doing this is to make it easier to remove the lug nuts when the wheels are off the ground.
    • 2 Raise the vehicle onto jack stands. Jack up on the jack point behind the radiator and place jack stands under the front pinch welds of the Megane under the front doors. Then, lower the vehicle onto the jack stands.
    • 3 Finish removing the lug nuts with a tire wrench and pull the tire off the wheel hub.
    • 4 Remove the inner wheel-liner screws using a screwdriver and pull the wheel liner down.
    • 5 Pry the access panel off the the inner wheel well to expose the access hole to the headlight assembly. You won't be able to easily see what you're doing in here, so you'll need to do this largely by feel.
    • 6 Squeeze the release tabs on the headlight connector and pull the connector off the back of the headlight.
    • 7 Pull the spring clip off of the back of the headlight and the headlight will come out of the headlight assembly with no trouble.
    • 8 Insert the new headlight into the back of the housing assembly through the access hole in the wheel well. Installation of the removed components is the reverse of removal.

Need to change the headlight switch how can i do it myself? Where to buy it?

Pull the neg.batt. cable off.You may have to remove the knee blocker panel to make it easier.
Pull h/light switch on. Look up under the dash at the switch. On the bottom of it is a retainer button.Push on it and at the same time ,pull on the headlight switch knob. This will remove the knob and its shaft from the switch block. You then remove the electrical connector and unscrew the ferrule nut off the front of the switch from the front of the dash.It goes back together the opposite. If you get another switch from a wrecking yard(cheapest way)Work the switch and pull it apart while you are still there.Sometimes they are pulled apart and broken when they are 'forced' out of a car.Hope this helps

What started this mess? tailights, fog lights, brake lights....

The relay has nothing to do with the tail lights, but replacing the switch sounds like a good idea. There's a nut holding it in place, see to get an idea of the construction. And the price. This is not worth fiddling about unreliable workarounds...
In addition, if fuses 15 and/or 16 burn frequently there might be a problem with the tail light cabling.

Good luck

Head lamp switch removal

if switch is mounted on turn signal lever: remove steering column covers screws are on the bottom of lower cover. once covers are removed you should see mounting screws for the multi-switch(thats what they call headlight/turn signal switch combo). remove screws and connectors & replace switch w/new and reverse procedure.

Dash light doesnt come on.

not that big a job replaceing all those dash lites in that sweet Loyale. Only thing making easier would be to GRAB a Haynes manuel each time you by a car. On another car that bezel covering the lamp was held in place only by two snap tines on sides of bezel above lights knob chk yours for this type release
