Pull back off unit and see if the micro switch is being activated .it should be activated when the case around the cd touches/activates it.leave plugged in and running to see if you have pushed/pulled the right part.

TRY REMOVING THE RADIO FUSE FOR 30 SECONDS THEN REINSTALL IT. THE CD PLAYER WILL SOMETIMES EJECT THE CD OR EVEN START WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN.

If i get a new cd player/radio for my jetta work if in safe mode?

If you buy another factory radio it'll need the unlock code to work with your factory alarm system. But if you go with an after market radio it'll work just fine, your alarm will just think there's no radio installed.
