Power steering Megan scenic 2 ( 1.9 DTI ) 1999, power steering is very stiff when car is cold , when i say stiff ( i mean as if the engine is switched off ) but eases off when it gets warmer .I need to know what grade of power steering fluid to use. I was going to try flushing it through with new fluid. I have no idea if it will make any differance. So if any one can give me any advice, I would be very gratefull

Vectra dti steering resovour where is it

In the engine bay at the front of the engine? It should have a black cap that says "power steering fuild" or something along those lines on the lid. Look around the engine bay till you find it really. There are not a lot of resorvours with caps in the engine bay and they should all be labeled. Hope this helps

Where to I put the power steering fluid? I can't

Hi, without looking at the engine in front of me, I can tell you to look for the belt that operates everything, and you will find the power steering pump. It will have a small pulley on it with the fan belt around that. It will also have a cap on the top of it. You remove the cap to pour the fluid in. On the body of the pump it will have 2 lines 1 for full cold and 1 for full hot. This means if the engine is hot from driving or cold from setting. Should be very easy to find if you follow what I have said. Good Luck,

Hi i have a renault scenic 1.9 dti and there is no heat been like this for 4 years tried flushing heater matrix and still the same replaced new thermostat all dials reading ok but still no joy. does this...

hi all i have fixed the problem please note this is for the renault scenic 1.9 dti 1998 reg. i had taken the casing off on top of the engine the one that covers it all for noise meaning the black cover. and looking back to the bulk head to the right hand side you can see 2 hoses which are side by side which are going into the car i dis connected both hoses and got a hose pipe and blasted them into the heater matrix with water (cold) and i dont no if this was a good idea but i got a mop bucket full of hot water reason why hot is because the engine was hot and poured it in to the tank where you top up your water just to fluss the system when it was filling i started the engine then kept pouring the water in when bucket was empty turned engine of asap re connected both hoses. on the LARGE hose you have a bleed screw i had taken that of completly then started the engine to let the water bleed through but again kept pouring water in the top up tank half a mop bucket whilst engine was running i replaced the bleed screw and hey presto the job was done i have not had any heating in the car for 4 yrs but now its hot hot hot. hope this helps to all with the scenic

Black smoke coming from exhaust but car is running, have changed filters but no change.the car is renault megan dti 02

Black smoke usually means a rich mixture. For some reason the car is getting too much fuel. If the check engine light is on then take it to a shop with a code reader. They can tell you what sensor needs replacing. These newer cars are usually totally computer controled so if a sensor goes bad they will adjust the mixture incorrectly.

1.9 Dti (1999) Scenic. Throttle goes unresponsive

Not heard of this before, the problem is that you could be looking forever for a fault especially if its electrical as i suspect this may be.Your best bet is to take it to a garage and have it plugged in,you never know it may be a quick fix and not expensive.good luck.

Renault megan scenic dti diognostic fault codes

whats else do you expect ,snap on code reader your having a laugh .YOU HONESTLY EXPECT TO READ A RENAULT ???????????????WITH ENCRYPTED SOFTWARE .sounds like an ECU problem but it could be something simple on the fuel injection system but without hearing the noise to know if its air in pump or an electrical buzz .check fuel IN line for ingression of air first ,also check for return in case its blocked causing the pressure to build up to high .call a scrapyard then report vehicle stolen and make a claim .this is a renault remember its designed to be dealer only repairs not weekend mechanics
