1989 S10 Blazer acting like its not getting gas.

I have a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer with a 4.3 TBI with 223,000 miles i just recently replaced the rear main seal and front and rear trans seals fuel pump, filter and injectors. the other day i put discount gas in it and it hasnt ran good ever since i put fuel system cleaner in it twice and yesterday i filled it up with exxon gas and its still acting up. its acting like its not getting gas and i have to let it warm up for about a good 20 minutes and it doesnt have a steady idle and when i put it in gear i have to constantly pump the gas to get it to go and it acts like its running out of gas it sputters but then after i drive it for about ten minutes it runs fine and i have to do the same routine everytime i start it up.....whats the deal?

    Hi,
I have had the same issue with the fuel as well. I dropped the gas tank in my 89 s-10 blazer and replaced the hose on the fuel pump inside the tank. The hose is about 1-2 inches long. On my blazer their was a hole some how worn and the hose was tacky. So when the fuel pump would pump the gas it chocked off the motor then when the motor stopped the pressure in the hose stopped I was then able to crank the motor over and then it would stop once again. I went to auto zone and bought a new filter for the tank pump it comes with new leads and a new hose... kinda like a rebuild kit for the fule pump. I also replaced the filter on the frame rail "drivers side" and I added in lucas injector cleaner to a new full tank of gas and it runs as new now.

I had the same problem with my blazer and it took me to completely rebuild the throttle body and put over $300 into the top end, new filter, and it still didn't stop. I finally dropped the tank and started to go through all the proper steps to remove the new fuel pump and i found that the rubber tube from the pump filter to the intake tube had a crack down the middle of it, replaced that and it ran perfectly fine. if that's not the case make certain that you didn't accidentally switch the small fuel lines like i did.(you'll notice that EVERYTHING smells like gas and you'll have fuel draining out of the charcoal cab emissions filter). hope that helps out a little bit!

When I try to start it the TBI dumps fuel in the motor and floods

You have a bad injector or a defective throttle control switch. You can test the throttle switch if you have a ohm meter, if you do get back to me and I will tell you how to test it.

1989 Chevy S10 Blazer won't start unless I pour fuel in the TBI.

Fuel pressure regulator. It regulates the fuel pressure you receive going to the injectors. All the injectors would not be bad, so you have to take a step back to the next component, which should be the regulator.

1992 S10 w 4.3 TBI Remote oil filter hoses

You could get them made perhaps at an a/c repair facility as they quite often make a/c hoses. Look in the phone book in your hometown and look under hydraulic lines/hoses as well. You provide them with the old hoses and they make you new lines in most cases.

Getting to much gas to engine in chevy s10 blazer

You have TBI, check the two injectors for a "V" or cone style, spray pattern. There shouldn't be any dripping. Also check the TBI assembly for any leaks. The fuel pressure regulator is mount at the rear part f the TBI. If the diaphram is damaged it could cause exsesive fuel to dump into the engine.
