You have the throttle body injection on that Jeep? might want to change air filter, and the PCV valve as well as change the oil and filter.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 2009 v6 jeep grand cherokee

either in one of the 2 valve covers or somewhere on the intake..do this.. follow the vacuum hoses from your brake booster, back to the engine and there should be one that enters the engine somewhere and its got a small connector just before the engine..thats the pvc valve..

Why would my 1994 jeep wrangler have oil in my air filter and in the air filter box

pcv not working.check see if pcv valve getting vacuum at the intake if not look for broke or disconnected vacuum hose to pcv.if pcv valve working with engine running should feel vacuum suction at pcv if not pcv faulty.if pcv okay other possible causes for oil in the air filter.worn oil rings or too much oil in crankcase.

Oil blowing into air filter on 89 jeep Cherokee

If you are getting Oil in your air filter it is most likely due to the PCV Valves on the Valve cover going bad it happens a lot. the one in the rear on the Valve cover goes bad and causes it to suck oil into the filter box. replace vacume lines while your at it as they are most likely getting old to

I have a 96 jeep cherokee 4.0 sport. whenever i am driving steep grades at a constant 3500 rpm, i start blowing oil from somewhere. it dosent leak any other time. the rear main seal seems fine. what could...

At an Idle your 4.0 creates a vacuum between the throttle body and the intake valves. As you need more throttle less vacuum is created. The PCV ( positive crank case vent) works off this vacuum. At the back of the valve cover there is a vacuum line that goes to the intake manifold. This line can become clogged. An engine produces "blow by". If you were to take oil cap off you might see it at an idle. Check the air filter. there is a line from the valve cover that leads to the airbox. this is where the "blow by" goes when pcv line is clogged. Part 1 the problem...... part 2 the fix.

Sounds funny

It is possible that your PCV Valve is not functioning as well as it should,,,also,,it may be that your engine has excessive wear in the piston rings and lower oil rings,,causing excessive blow by into your engine crank case.
This will of course affect how your engine runs and how much oil is consumed.
Check PCV valve and replace as neccessary.
If this doesnt work,,i'd suggest taking it to a mechanic.
