I had to pull the fuse out of the horn,so now I dont have a horn.

Any Ideas how to repair or disable the alarm

  • Conorhaines Apr 18, 2009

Alarm goes off intermittantly if I lock the car with 1 press on the key fob. If I double click(press) the fob it disables the motion sensor, and the alarm works fine. Does anyone know of an issue with the sensor?

I would check the door latch micro switches, then check the alarm control unit for water damage under the drivers seat. The latch in the windshield for the convertible has a micro switch that fails too. Even an aftermarket radio can set off the alarm.

My key will not turn in ignition to start my 2001 porsche boxter

Try turning your steering wheel hard to the right , then left while turning the key. Steering wheel lock and ignition lock are somewhat co-dependant

2001 porsche boxter engine running hot

My 2000 Boxster developed a pin hole leak in the coolant reserve tank in the rear trunk. The trunk floor is actually raised, which allowed the coolant to go unnoticed, since the carpet never got wet. I would pull back the carpet on the side and see if there is coolant in the trunk area. If so, the plastic reserve tank will run you about $300 for the part. It is a bit of a pain to replace, but something the average home mechanic can do. Only real hassle was the hose clamps in the engine bay were installed before the engine, hence the engine was in the way of the screw head.
