Question about 2001 Daewoo Leganza

Daewoo window jamming

My rear nearside electric window has been slowing down for some time now and yesterday it stopped altogether halfway up. I thought I'd try to get inside the door to release and grease the mechanism, but I have fallen at the first hurdle - I can't even get the door trim off! Can someone please help... All the Best, Giles

Drcool - you are great help! I got into the door OK, found the window mechanism, which seems to be ok, but there seem to be cables (like brake cables you get on bicycles) which have rusted through. I can't get the motor out because it is still attached to something at the top of the door by one of the cables, which I clearly need to replace. I think I may have to reassemble and take the whole thing to a garage. Any ideas?

    Many thanks

Thanks for that. Sadly I think the repair is beyond me - the motor works OK, but I don't see how to remove the cables...

You should be coming from the inside of the door. remove the screw from the door handle and the door opener. dont forget the clips at the bottom part of the door panel.

from there, you can see and check the power window motor and mechanism.

tnx 4 using fixya,

it is a little bit hard to repair the cables, what you can do is remove the whole assembly and bench test the motor and watch the cable to go forward and reverse. watch the cables looping on the motor spool.

    tnx 4 the rating,

I would suspect the window switch on the door. Sounds like the down switch part off the switch may not be working. Before replacing the switch I would get some spray that is made to clean electrical contacts. Should have it at any auto parts store or even radio shack. Spray the electrical contacts on the switch and clean it up real good and see how it does.

Drivers electric window wont roll up it goes down real slow but wont go up past halfway. Its real slow going down and before this it would go slow and roll outside of track at top

Window regulator and motor assembly will need replaced. Common problem. You've seen other people with it at the drive thru ATM and pick up windows - getting out of there car to get items!! LOL! Seriously have an experienced mech. look into it. Having this thing not work will be a real pain especially if it dies during a rain storm. Good luck

I doubt there is a common cause. The rear HVAC needs to be diagnosed by a HVAC technician. The electric windows problem is probably a bad motor in the door. Do the rear windows work from the driver's controls? If they do, then it is the window switch that is faulty.

Rear window on truck not working .

Unfortunately, I'm there to see it. However, I can, at the very least, lead you down the path with what I know could be probable causes of your sudden rear window failure. It could be the fuse or your relay may be bad; the window motor may also be burnt up. Or, altogether, the window may just get jammed somewhere in the door. To better assess, read this handy, diagnostic article on your issue:

This should help!
