Question about Mitsubishi Lancer

I get a wheel shudder at about 100km/hr, it is not wheel balancing. I have been told there is a problem with some mitsubishi challenger hubs. the hole in the center of the hub has worn and elongated. could this be true

Yes, it can cause a problem because the hub is out of balance from it's original form. especially it will shudder when you apply the brakes as well.

Can be caused by wear in ball joints, poor wheel balance, damaged or buckled wheel rim, leaking steering damper if fitted. But the chances are if you can drive through the shudder and then experience it again at a higher speed, it would usually be down to poor wheel balance or distorted tyre.

yeah , the fluid needs to be checked, the dealer needs to pull the plug and check the levels and fill it accordingly, it my need to have a fluid change also. it sounds like a shift solenoid, but i would have the fluid checked out first.

You need to put a dial indicator on the wheel hub.Rotating the hub will show any run out.Run out can be repaired with shims or replacing the hub or hubs.If hubs pass the run out test, the replacement rotors now have to pass the run out test.Check the rear while you are at it too.
