Sounds like there is no power to the fuel pump while cranking. check the oil pressure sender this helps the fuel pump run under cranking

What is wrong when the truck want start unless you pour gas in the throttle body then runs fine until gas burns off the dies

This means that fuel is not being forced up to the Carb., or to the Injectors. There are several reason this could happen. You may have a clogged Fuel Filter, or You may have a faulty Fuel Pump, but it also could mean that your Fuel Pump Relay is faulty and is not sending the electrical signal to a particular sensor. You might have a dirty Throttle Body Unit or a faulty Throttle Position Sensor. There are a few more reasons but for now: Follow the following link to learn more about how to troubleshoot your Crank / No start Issue.

Car not starting in morning

It sounds as though you are imitating a cold start injector by pouring fuel into intake. I would start there

My 1985 grand Marquis won't start I can pour gas

Take the gas filter off. Should be located near the front of the carbeurator, take off the air cleaner and look for it, it takes 2 wrenches to take it off, a little gas may spill out but not much and replace it, however there is a strong possibility that he gas pump is out if the filter is fine. Hope this helps

Your vehicle doesn't have a carburetor. What you poured gas into was the throttle body. Does it stay running once it starts? You really should check the fuel pressure to be sure but not everyone has a gauge. Changing the fuel filter would definitely be a good start. If that doesn't do it, check the fuses for the fuel pump and check the fuel pump relay. If they check out make sure the power is actually getting to the fuel pump, check the ground wire of course also. If you have good power and ground at the pump and no fuel you will have to replace the pump most likely.

You most likely have no power to the injectors when switch is initailly turned on. Sometimes this is caused by a sticking oil pressure switch. Check wiring diagram to see if power source is through this switch.Hope this helps God Bless
