Auto free hub pajero 1987

I have a boucht a pajero from 87 but the manual is in japanese so i dont know if i have to reverse to get it 4 wheel drive or not?

    fitted replacment engine in my pajero auto out of shogun manual needed to change pump with kickdown on so need to time

Do you have an exploded view of the front wheel 4WD auto free mechanism? my car is mitsubishi delica starwagon 1991 model.

2002 1500 when you manually take the transfer case out of 4 wheel drive, is the front shaft suppose to turn freely

if you have free wheeling front hubs ---yes
if you have auto locking hubs --yes until the hubs lock up
if you do not have free wheeling front hubs ---no as the wheels will turn the drive shaft through the diff

it sounds like the transfer case is stuck in neutral you may have to get under vehicle and block wheels and have some one move 4 wheel drive lever while watching it from under vehicle see if it is moving the shaft on transfer case if it is not repair it possible loose nut or pulled out of plastic grommet if it has an electric motor to move it from 2 wheel to four wheel remove motor and manually move shaft to get it out of neutral if it does replace electric motor

What type of brake rotors fit on an 87 olds delta 88

YOU NEED BRAKE ROTORS FOR FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VECHICLE. THE 1987 OLDS DELTA 88 AND 1987 BUICK LESABRE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE SHOULD BE THE SAME.BUT GO TO AUTO PARTS STORES THEY CAN LOOK IT UP IF.BOTH HAD SAME TYPE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE SAME TRANSMISSION AND SAME WHEEL BASE AND DIAMTER EVERY THING SHOULD WORK OUT.

Not a problem as much as an answer. Are both wheels rear wheels engaged at all times on my 4x4 87 ranger?

this is a rear wheel drive vehicle and as such the rear wheels are always engaged.when in 4 wheel drive the transfer case in gages and the front differential connects and is engaged.unless the 4 wheel drive is engaged the transfer case just free wheels.

My 87 Bronco II four wheel drive will not ingage. Can here what sounds like whining noise from front drivers side tire when transfer ingaged. Like all mechanisms are working till that point. But tire won't...

First off do you have manual hubs or auto hubs. is the stick on the floor or is it push button?? Kinda sounds like if it is manual hubs you have to lock in then they are not locking in to give that tire power, you can get new hubs from a parts store but i suggest you to get the WARN hubs do to they will last longer than stock hubs..

  1. Separate cap assembly from hub body by removing the three Torx® head capscrews.

  1. Remove the lock ring seated in the groove of the front disc brake hub and rotor (1102).

  1. Remove the hub body assembly from the front disc brake hub and rotor. If the body is difficult to remove, install two capscrews and pull the body assembly out of the front disc brake hub and rotor.

Installation
  1. NOTE: Do not pack the hublock body assembly or cap with grease. Excessive grease can cause excessive dialing effort and hub failure.

    Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
  1. Tighten three Torx® head capscrews to 4-6 Nm (35-53 lb-in).

The auto locking hubs are sort of a weak link. Many replace them with manual locking hubs, which last basically forever. Here is a set of instructions:

I have a 2000 F250 with manual 4 wheel drive when

the hubs ussualy have two positions, auto and lock. i dont know of any other positions. they will only go in one way. and the hubs should be clearly marked on the outside with an arrow pointer.

sounds like either a fuse or the do u have locking hubs that need to be engaged also when using 4 wheel drive there is actually only 2 wheels turning usually passenger front and driver back sometimes u also have to drive backwards to engage and also disengage 4 wheel drive finally it may be a transfer case problem check drive shafts and u joints make sure they are engaged

4-wheel drive not working, light is on

replace your hubs to manual hubs thats what happened to mine, you can get them at any auto parts store.
