Question about 2001 GMC Yukon

1 Answer

Engine intermittently stumbles and stalls after taking off from stop. I changed filter, added 1/2 tank of fuel with STP injector cleaner. I had two more occurences after that and 120 miles back home. Is bad fuel an option? Are injectors prone to intermittent faults. 2002 GMC Yukon 111000 mi.

Take carborator cleaner. First take off the big hose on the front of your intake then press gas peddal to open up and then spray it inside this fixed my problem. Jerry

Won't stay running, fuel pump ok, neighbor mechanic said it does go on when I turn key. Had under 1/4 tank, warmed van up and went out 10 mins. later, stalled. added over 2 gallons on gas, on incline. Will...

You need to always start with a basic tune up, spark plugs, fuel filter and air filter, as the vehicle will not perform well if any of these three are bad. Then check all vacuum lines for cracks or breaks and replace as needed. You can also add a fuel injector cleaner into the gas tank. I recommend the black bottle of STP concentrated fuel injector cleaner, and you can purchase that at most Wal-Mart's. Good luck :O)

Stalling at stop lights slow when taking off if you floor it engine stumbles but you take your foot off the gas the engine starts running fine

it could be the spark plugs and/or wires. if any of these are faulty it will cause a cylinder to misfire which in turn causes the engine to stumble when applying the gas. on the other hand it could also be the fuel injectors, fuel pump, or fuel lines that are the problem. One thing that will help with that is pour a bottle of injector cleaner into your cars gas tank the next time you fill it up.

It stalls while air and gas filter installed ?

Could be dirty fuel injectors or some water in your fuel. STP fuel injetor cleaner or HEET water remover on next full tank of gas should solve this. Use one or the other not both

My son filled the tank of his 97 buick century and within 10 miles the car started bogging down (and stalling) on acceleration. The behavior is the same regardles of whether the vehicle is in motion or at...

dirty fuel fiter, yes. But also certain models require mid or premium grade gasoline. regular unleaded has more water in it than premium. Hense the pinging. When was the last time you have your fuel injectors cleaned. Try adding a gas treatment like STP gas treatment/fuel injector cleaner, that should help. If it continues then its the fuel filter or the fuel pump is also going out.

Engine stumbles when accelerating

HI, you will need to replace the following.

1. replace the spark plugs and wires asap.
2. replace the fuel filter and pump as well.
3. replace the air filter.
4. Add a fuel system cleaner.(Techtron fuel injector cleaner is the best)

Replacing the above component's and adding a fuel system cleaner, will improve the performance of your vehicle dramatically.

Engine Stall

change the fuel filter it maybe clogged, check for any vacuum leaks even at the intake manifolds
I would recommend trying STP fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank and make sure you have at least a half a tank of gas when adding and then finish filling it up and take the car out on the highway and drive it to run it through the fuel system and see if this helps and if it does then change the fuel filter

Truck Stalls when ideling in traffic

I don't know what the STP cleaner may have done; I had a similar problem where my car would idle very low when stopped or in a drive-through waiting. It turns out there was black soot on the engine intake. I disconnected the rubber hose from the air filter at the engine (take cover off, loosen 1 clamp). I used a spray can of throttle body cleaner and wiped the area clear. I then had my dealer perform the programming change for a service bulletin that mentions throttle body coking.
