You are right, engine is a VE30DE .A mechanic here told me that also could be the fuel injectors, but reading your site I notice there are a lot of this engine with the same problem.

Also has the light of the Air Bag turning on every 3 sec.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Which engine is this VE30DE or VG30. You can tell by looking at the valve covers. (but by what you are descibing you have the VE30DE) If the valve covers are red in color, than it's a VG30 with a timing belt. If the valve covers are BIG aluminium ones , than that's a VE30DE engine with timing chains. Or if your speed goes to125MPH than its a VG30 , but if it goes to 145MPH than its the VE30DE (24 valve dual overhead cam with variable timing control) Let me know what you have and we will take it from there.

12 plus years with Nissan I have seen quite a few of these engines and actually had the same car my self, That particular model with the VE30DE is a "street version of a INDY car". Nissan used that engine in the INDY car and then they down tuned it and put it on a street into a 1992-1994 limited production Maximas. Fast cars. I loved mine. Awesome cars if maintanace is kept up. That's where the problem is. The sound that you are hearing "is or are" your VTC sprockets. Nissan had some issues with those , if people didnt keep up woth their oil changes, it would clogg up the oil galleys in the engine resulting in oil starvasion to the VTC sprockets eventually damaging the sprocket and destroing it. Nissan has a rebuild kit for those, however that will only get you about 80K. Replacement sprockets are available at about $500 a side and than all other gaskets that you will need to fix it. Have you checked how much oil is in the engine?? If there is plenty of oil, than the sprockets will need to be replaced. I have done few of those my self and it's not something that person which does;t work on cars may not want to attempt. The whole top of the engine has to come apart along with both valve covers, timing chains and cam shafts. And if the sprockets are getting rebuild, you need a press and few specialty tools from Nissan to perfrom the rebuild. That's where the VTC sprockets are located, at the end of the cam shaft on each bank/side of the engine. Good luck.

Cam belt on 2008 jeep patriot 60k when to change it

usa car?, must i guess country > and engine?
Gas or Diesel, (just a clue helps)
no engine stated, we cant guess them here.
my guess, its the 2.4l engine? 4 cylinders?>
60,000 miles. with neon engine in a liberty.
it's not.
or the 2.0L

2.0 L World I4 (gasoline)
2.0 L VW I4 (t/c diesel)
2.2 L OM651 I4 (t/c diesel)
2.4 L World I4 (gasoline) 07 to present

to service and engine, first know what's there, then guess. haha.?

i looked in your operators guide and its missing
this fact. page 400+ not a word. so>????

the belt engine , 2.4L is not a world engine.
the 2.4L old Neon engine ended in 2005 on all
liberty, but yours never had them.
so again which engine above do you have,
the VIN code tells you as does the hood sticker.

at random, i pick for you , 2.4L world.
and is a chain, look ma, not rubber band, why look for one>?
why ask?>e724fc6a-d4f3-4682-b803-3aae8e51c2ae.jpg

My engine is making noise like a diesel car and someone said is timing chain and tensioner or hydraulic lifters

If the car has done more that 60000 miles then it is time to change the timing belt and also check on the maintenance schedule of the manufacturer.
The noise of the engine always requires a first hand observation so as to determine the exact fault. Possible that an oil change with checking of all timing/valve settings, replacement of timing chain, tensioner, will reduce the noise.

Does the CEL come on at certain mile markers? Last night my 2002 KIA had its CEL come one as I hit 65000 miles. Car feels to be running perfectly fine. Is it just letting me know it needs its 65000 mile...

Hello! The CEL is the check engine light. When it illuminates it means your Kia has a trouble code. It is not related to a service mileage point.

Take your Rio to an auto parts store and ask for a free code check.
When you find out what trouble code or codes are being generated, send a comment to this solution and I will be more than happy to define and troubleshoot your problem.

I don't know if the noise from my 2003 vw tdi is normal. Are there any valve adjustments that need to be made on this engine (1.9)? My car has 160,000 miles on it. It's not too clattery, but more so upon...

There's no tappets adjustment needed for this engine as they are hydraulic lifters. Try using 10w40 instead and see what happens or otherwise try using Moreys oil treatment with your current oil as it seems to me that the noise is more at startup and for a short period. Cheers.

Temp gauge at half way even when engine stone cold.

Sounds a bit like a bad earth somewhere. Have a look at the wiring and make sure that all contacts are free from rust; especially at the front of the car.
