Subaru wrx giving trouble

Hi im getting a humming and wising noise from my wrx its coming from the belts so i changed the 2 at the front the alternator and the one beside it but the noise is still there also ive got a check engine light coming on ive reset it but its back again i was told it could be the fuel sensor, i changed the fuel filter about 6 months ago its not a subaru part so im wondering could it be that. also can you tell me how to adjust the windscreen wipers the drivers side one comes of the window especially over 60 mph can you help. thanks

My 2002 WRX has an idential-sounding noise - a whining sound that goes with the engine revs.

No CEL so far but the car hesitated a couple of times on the highway.

I strongly suspect it's coming from the alternator itself. Mine is at about 115k miles.

Did you happen to change the idler bearings and pulley when you changed the belts?

My 2003 wrx has increasing road noise - its getting hard to hear the radio - no grinding, no pops, grunting - just loud and louder humming above 40 mph - even when i put it in neutral. drives fine - could...

i want you to feel all 4 tires, feel for lots of flat spots. feel all the way around them. they might have flat spots on them. this will cause this noise. you neer to rotate your tires at 3,000 miles front to back. this will stop them from cupping out. thats what the tire store calls it. have your tires checked for balance when you rotate them. your tire with flat spots will make a good spare tire. switch the bad one to your spare to see if the noise gets changes

02 impreza wrx giving trouble

Unlikely the fuel filter is causing the engine check light. You reset the light so presumably you know the fault code. Looking up the meaning of that fault code would give you more of a clue to the cause than someone telling you it might be the fuel sensor - there is quite enough (educated) guesswork in fault diagnosis when the fault code is known without unnecessarily adding to it.

The wiper problem probably isn't a matter of adjustment. The wiper arm spring or springs could be weak or if it is a twin spring design perhaps one is missing. Possible the wrong design of wiper blade is fitted and should be replaced by a blade with an aerofoil design.

Replacing the belts to cure a noise made by the belts but that makes no difference means it probably isn't the belts making the noise. Belts can make some loud and strange noises but a brief spray onto the running belt should instantly stop the noise albeit temporarily. The spray could be anything from water, silicone, WD-40...
If the noise doesn't instantly stop it probably isn't the belts.

Listening through a short length of hose can help locate a noise and if it is a mechanical noise then listening via a rod or long screwdriver or a stethoscope (sonarscope) will be necessary.

Changing the park and spotlight bulbs on 1996 Impreza WRX

i had the same problem with my 2003 wrx you have 2 choices on how to fix it the first is take the car to a subaru dealer and they can do it for you. Or you can do it yourself like this under the bonnet at the front of the grill you'll see a row of clips first you have to pop them out to remove the grill fully from the car that will give you access to the 3 or 4 bolts holding the light to the car you have to undo these bolts and remove the entie light from the car this will give you fully access to the park light fixture simply twist it so it pops out the headlight and replace the bulb ..... the spot lights are the same remove the grill and the headlight from the car this makes a gap if you look threw and down this gap you will see the back of the spot light fixture simply twist (unclip it depending on the year of the car) it to remove it and replace the bulb once you have done this bolt the headlight back in and clip the grill back into place
