Question about 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

2002 grand cherokee hard to start

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited with a 4.7 L, 70,000 miles on it. It has been hard starting after it sits for 1 to 8 hours. I have to stay on the key for about 5 seconds or push the accelerator pedal to the bottom to start in about 3 seconds. If I try to start it after half an hour or leave the car overnight, it starts fine however, in every start, it always smells raw gas. I put new plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, battery and still have the problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Very rough idle on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition V8

If you haven't changed the plugs or had the fuel system cleaned, now would be a good time to do it. The number 1 culprit for rough idles is dirty injectors or plugs. You can try an injector cleaner in a can (or bottle) for under $10 and see if it helps, and then work from there. If there isn't any improvement then if you are able to, check the plugs for any gunky buildup and if you find a bad plug, make sure you replace them all (or have them replaced) at the same time.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Not Starting Intermittently

Check the battery. If it starts to fail it will start doing any conceivable thing including failing to start the car. Have the battery checked with a load tester. A simple voltmeter will not give an account of the requirements needed and the ability of the battery to meet those requirements.

After i start my 95 jeep grand cherokee limited

crank or camshaft sensor will cause this, a bad crank sensor will cause it not to start or start hard. it controls timing and sends info to pcm for proper fuel mixture and spark at the right time.

Transfer case knocking

These transfer cases do not have plastic pumps. Do have the transfer case looked at by Jeep tech, it could be as simple as an adjustment on the lever.
