Yep, fuel pump time. it revs high because the ****** kicks down but not enough fuel to accel, not sure how the battery light plays in there though.

SOURCE: 1999 gmc sierra

Sounds like your torque converter is going out. If it is that when you go to shift the transmission is not getting enough fluid to keep the parts moving in the transmission. The clunks it the gears freeing up and smashing into the right position. I had a similiar thing happen to me with my old truck. That sounds like the problem you are having, but I could be wrong. I sure way to tell is to check you transmission fluid and see if brown or black. If its one of those the colors the transmission fluid is burnt up. Usually the trans fluid is red. Hope that helps.

Where is the fuel reset button on a 1998 gmc sierra Z71??

Only Ford products have an inertia switch for the fuel pump.
If the pump has no power, have you checked the pump relay to see if it is working ?

I have a knocking noise in my front end whenever I put my 1998 gmc sierra z71 in 4 wheel drive

when was the last time you've checked the fluid level in the front differential?
Try this, quickly. these gears don't last long when the fluid level is low, and it's a real big job to replace the gears/differential housing.

I hope this helps, ask if you need anything.

My 1998 sierra Z71 5.7L sometimes dosent start it will fire turn over then die out. come back a few hrs later starts right up.

Check the ICM. It may be on it's way out and will need to be replaced, also the fuel filter may be on it's way out and will need to be replaced. Start with these two things for now.

1998 GMC K1500 Sierra X-Cab Z71, Concerning the A/C - Heater. The fan blows good just doesn't open the heater core valve to let the heat in, it stays cold,How can I fix it ?

the heater sustem is run off of a vacum from the engine, there are actuators that open and close the "valves" pull the vacume lines off one at a time( the coloured hoses) and find out if you have either no vacum or an actuator un hinged from the "valve" door.
this should narrow it down for you message me back and we can work it out.
