Steve, you know that your gas gauge is just a current meter in series with a pot. I would think most auto stores would have your manual. The wiring schematic in the manual is very easy to follow. I have a manual on my 87 that I got at Auto Zone and it covers anything on my truck. Very cheap manual for what you get..

Sorry Steve, I dont know how I read gas gauge. My 87 chev truck has a speedometer cable and Im sure yours does to. Nothing electric about that thing. Just a cable from trans to speedometer. Screws out of the back of the odometer. I would say your cable is broken..

have you looked at the plug on the side of the gearbox , it may have come loose or broken wire . or have you checked all the fuses maybe one blown.

How to fix: tachometer and speedometer work maybe 25% of the time; fuel gauge doesn't work at all?

This is caused by a malfunctioning or loosely seated computer module. I'd suggest taking your vehicle into a professional and have them replace the module or replace the housing (or both). It could also be damaged wiring that is making intermittent connections for either the instrument panel (dashboard unit) or the specific sensors.

I have a 97 s10 5 speed and when going up hills it gets very noisy and feels shaky? also when i accelerate the same thing happens. i also have a problem with the odometer and speedometer neither one works!...

with the noise and shaky problem the engine might be missing on one cylinder. For the speedometer check the cable if it has one or maybe a wire is unplugged or broken check by the rear of the transmission.

Need ignition wiring diagram for 1997 Saturn 4 door automatic. About to install a remote starter for the winter months

I think these are the 2 diagrams you need, but they aren't that useful in this form. I recommend you post a request at the bottom of the following site to get a better answer: http://www.modifiedlife.com/request-saturn-remote-start-wiring-diagram/

I need to check Vehicle Speed 1 to sort out a speedo problem, but do not know where the 2 wires lead to. This for a Subaru 1997 Outback

I assume you're referring to the Speed Sensor, and the 2 wires coming from the Speed Sensor? Is your speedometer totally inop, or is it giving improper, or sporadic indications? I'm not familiar with Subaru, but wiring for speed sensors are generally the same for most 96 and newer vehicles. That 2-wire harness typically runs to a disconnect... to the PCM... maybe another disconnect... speedometer. If you have access to schematics, or wiring diagrams, you would need to obtain a few plug and pin numbers, locate the components, then trace a few wires. I'd suggest first running a diagnostic in order to obtain any possible fault codes, and use that as a good starting point.

1992 chevy s10 speedometer does not work

Maybe the speedo itself or wiring coming in behind it is loose.

All the posts at many other sites suggest changing the input and output speed sensors. About $35 at Autozone.
