I dont think i can be much help.. not a nough details.. sound like you have to acclrt..to switch gears..if so.. you may have a bad pressure plate in trans or electr. coil bad,, or your main pump torue converter,,

Is it normal for the revs to stay up when changing gear in a 2002 4x4 3.0L turbo diesel navara?

do they revs drop off when taking pressure off accelerator pedal when out of gear? if only staying high during gear change it would suggest a worn clutch friction/pressure plate so the engine isn't slowing down when clutch is depressed .I'd also have the OBD codes read to see if there is a sensor/switch at fault , but sounds like the clutch to me

My honda civic 1.7 diesel 2004 starts dropping speed suddenly shift gears up or down it won't make any difference can press acceleration it won't make any different the rev counter won't go past 2000...

Whens the last time you change your fuel filter. The other problem could be the fuel pump. Our you using Bio Diesel or regular Diesel ?
Some Bio Diesel will not burn hot enough to give you the power.

I just purchased a 1999 VW Passat and when I start to drive the car acts like a manual and it is an automatic. Now it has on the gears D,4,3 & 2 what is that about?

you have effectively got two gearboxes in the car.1is a normal auto (D) ON THE FLOOR then you have + and - for the "manual" take your pick....now here is the clever part,if you put the car in auto "D"and dont touch the gas the car will accelerate to about 35 on the flat.and will change as per a normal auto,if then when you stop you put 1/3rd gas pedal and hold that position it will go right upto about 65,stop then puit your foot right to the floor (kickdown)and the car will fly...stop...you have just reset the gearbox..try and keep to 1/3rd gas for about 25miles and you will see a big difference in gear changes/revs (smoother)but boring....

Automatic shudders on some gear changes.

This car has both options of auto transmission plus manual gear **** so the only reason it can shudder when the clutch is not fully released and thus takes some time, that's when it shudders, but on accelerating this will not happen cos the centripetal clutch has enough torque such that the clutch is pressed hard to the cam & therefore no shuddering. On cruising speed the probability of clutch slipping making the car shudder. Thus changing the clutch assembly ought eliminate this problem....sodeep

Thud noise / jolt when transmission.......

Yes, I would get the transmission checked it sounds like it maybe getting ready to go out. Take the dipstick out & smell the fluid to see if it smells burnt...Hope this helps..

Can't find where to check Auto.Transmission level.

Try changing the oil and filter. If that doesn't help, try the speed/shift sensor, or do that first, it's up to you.

Grinding sound on pressing clutch in at high revs

The grinding sound may be a throw out bearing or the pilot bearing. The sticking throttle problem sounds like a linkage or cable binding up from possibly damage due to the impact from the accident.

Hi, 96 vs v6 commodore.when changing between park & reverse car revs drop down as if going to stall but doesnt, and same for putting it in drive.I have changed the I.A.C motor problem still there

Look for vacuum leaks had a similiar problem in my car. a small split in a hose can cause havoc, and is usually only noticeable at low revs, like changing gears in an auto and sitting at a set of traffic lights.

It can be a long process checking all the hoses but it will give you a good look round the engine.
