This is suppose to happen in slick conditions as you don't want to give it gas. If happens when you are not sliding or loosing traction there is something else wrong. This will happen in rain, snow, ice or on loose gravel. The traction control system shuts cylinders down so you can't give it gas and gain speed to help avoid an accident.

TCS and Engine Light

I would recommend you have someone check the computer for trouble codes first. The codes will direct you as to what needs to be tested.

How do you reset tcs/slip light on a 1999 infinit q45

Hi there:

Pull the codes to get started. Normla process is when the slip light will flash on and then go off. TCS is your Traction Control System. It is normal for it to go off If the rear wheels are slipping. You may have worn tires or you are driving on ice or snow. Are you on a slippery surface when this happens? You can always shut the system down by pressing the TCS off button in the center console.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

How to fix my 2001 honda odyssey tcs light comes on d4 blinks

If the TCS light is on and the D4 light is blinking, this indicates that there is a transmission control problem. You must scan your onboard computer network fo fault codes to begin diagnosis.

Engine light is on tcs light keeps blinking and there is a gap in the trothle when u press the gas

the tcs can mean 2 things, 1 is the temperature colant switch, which is mostly located on top of the intake manifold, and sometimes close to the thermostat housing, this is based upon what type of vehicle it is, and the engine size. also unless your computer might be saying throttle control sensor, or switch. this switch should be located close to the throttle body area, after replacing or checking out the part, you can remove the light , either with a ob 2 scan tool, or disconnect the positive battery cable for about 1 minute, then reconnect it back up, light should now be out.

The TCS light came on and the car started jerking especially at stops. The light would go off for a while after restarting the car but the same problems would happen and the light would eventually come...

The TCS stands for Traction Control System, I believe. The TCS is controlled by inputs from the wheel speed sensors. If you have a bad sensor, then a new hub may be required to repair it.

The check engine light may be a sepawrate problem. Have the codes scanned for both the Anti lock braking sytem, TCS, and the check engine light.

Sometimes it will require a separate scanner for the TCS/ABS vs. the Check Engine light.

Good luck on this diagnosis and repair.

How do you use the traction control system. should the dashboard light be on or off

how the tcs works is when active light on dash will be on you will only feel it working tcs uses wheel speed sensors that when your tire slips and spins faster than other wheel like spinnig out on on ice snow gravel the tcs unit will use a controlled misfire that will **** or jolt giving traction and will stay engaged until spinnig stops or you let off gas basicaly it uses the engine to **** not allowing wheels to spin out to get a feel turn on tcs find a gravel or snowy road accelerate trying to make the car slip you will feel car start to **** it works well try it so you get a feel incase you trigger tcs and catches you off guard

hope this helped
