Unable to start car, keyless remote won't work anymore either
My 2004 Mitsubishi Galant was driving great in the afternoon. I returned home and had to leave again shortly after. When I attempted to start the car again, it basically completly shut down. The digital mileage flashes when the door is open and only half of the numbers are appearing on the screen. The car does not appear to have any functions. Even the keyless remote will not work to lock/unlock doors or open trunk. I am worried this is a computer board or something but I'm hoping its the battery. Any ideas?

Could be the starter or possibly the ignition. Best way to test the starter is get out a multimeter and check the voltage to the main wire on the starter make sure it's getting 12 volts, then when you try and start see if the solenoid is getting voltage, the solenoid will ONLY get voltage when you are trying to start it. Try that and go from there. thank you, Lee
Sure sounds like the battery to me. It may also stem from a problem with the charging system. Take the battery to a servo and have it tested before you buy a new one. If it tests good then you will need your alternator or charging system repaired.
