Drive the car for about 20 minutes. When you stop and check the fluid, leave the car on level ground and the engine on, in park and with the parking brake on. Check the fluid - it should feel pretty warm. Confirm that you have the proper type - the dipstick may say what type to use and the owner's manual definitely will. The fluid should be added to the tube where the dipstick came out of in small amounts. Add a few ounces at a time if any is needed at all to get it to the upper mark. Don't overfill . If it's only a small amount low, leave it alone.
There are several things that will turn the check engine light and TCS light on .If you get the code I can tell you exactly what the problem is . On your year i see transmission problems as well as EGR problems. If you go to any large auto parts store they will check the code for free or a very small fee.
