Question about 2005 Honda Pilot

Radio dead (not a code issue), Fuse #9 (lighter) keeps blowing

The radio was dead this morning. The screen is blank and the red anti-theft light is blinking. Fuse for radio is fine. Fuse #9 (inside passenger door) was blown. This fuse is for lighter. I have replaced fuse 3 times and each time fuse shorts immediately. Lighter is a little beat up from plugging and pulling cell phone charger. The lighter is still attached, but casing dangling out of dash. I don't see any objects in light. Do I need to replace lighter completely? Can I do it, or does a dealer have to look at it now? Any other suggestions to get radio working again. Thanks. (I have the code, once it gets power again and can enter that but am not even getting CODE message on display.) Thanks.

My radio is dead too along with the power outlets. Was told there was a master reset switch, but don't know yet where it is.

I have the same radio problem with a 2004 Pilot. Red anti theft light flashes but no life in the radio and thus no way to enter a code. Please help.

Read kkru's problem. Had same problem happen when plugging in a cell phone charger which blew the fuse. Very long 5 hour drive without a radio or DVD for our 3 year old before reading this blog. Replaced 15 amp fuse for the acc cigar under the glove box and radio works now. Waiting to see if it continues to blow the same #9 fuse.

Yes, replacing the #9 fuse in the fuse box under the glove box seemed to do the trick (Front Accessory Socket). Thank you!!

My radio isn't working we changed the battery just this morning and now the Radio doesn't turn on at all.

radios have an anti theft device in the system that cuts in when the battery or the radio is removed or disconnected
If the radio is factory fit and not very old you should be able to get the code from the dealer
if not there are free download sites that have radio codes for all makes and models
all you have to do is search your make of radio, model of car and if you have it the serial number of the radio

1996 is all I have. Look on back of cover for fuse chart.

Location
The fuse junction panel is located to the left of the steering column. To expose the fuse junction panel, remove the fuse panel cover (14A003) as outlined.

My radio in my 05' Honda pilot stopped working. The anti-theft light flashes but there is no display. I tried installing an aftermarket stereo to see if that would work but no power goes to that either....

In my case the solution was a fuse on the passenger side inside fuse box. It is not listed as a fuse for the radio but it is none the less. If your cigarette lighter isn't working either its the fuse. On my 2004 it was fuse # 9 a 15A fuse.

Security Light always on, door lock fuse keeps blowing

This is most likely a problem with your Passlock anti-theft system which is known issue with these cars. Passlock is a "passive" anti-theft system, which means that it will disable your ability to start the car if it thinks there is a problem. The three components that can cause this are: 1) Ignition Switch, 2) Ignition Cylinder, 3) Body Control Module (computer). The dealer is the only one who can solve this problem (unless you can bypass it, but it is not that easy). Estimated repair from most dealers is $800 and up.
