What will be the problem if i have a taping noise when i start my car until it gets warm mitsubishi 380

A tapping noise that starts out cold and goes away when warm is usually caused by a valve lifter inside the engine. The lifter may be worn/leaking down and will be noisy until it fills with oil pressure. You can try an oil additive ( Lucas Oil Additive ) available at most part stores works very well with noisy lifters. Another noise that can happen cold and go away when warm is an exhaust manifold leak. However, this is normally a ticking type sound rather than a tapping sound.

Wont start

Do you mean the starter motor runs but the engine will not crank? If so the problem is at you starter there is a small gear that makes the conection between the starter motor and the engine. Some times you can tap the starter with a hammer while someone try's to start it and it will loosen the gear and start. if this works change the starter.

Taping noise in engine sounds like a lifter 2004 dakota 3.7 v6

if its a lifter then the only thing you can do is get an oil service and hope this gets rid of it. Alot of cars start with a lifter tap but it should go away wihtin 30 seconds or so.

Starter problem i think

Sounds like a bad connection either battery or starter. Do the dash light's go out or dim when you turn the key to the starter possition if so check the battery cable conections for corrision. Check the cable coming from the battery to the starter for a loose or bad connection. Check the minus cable where it connects to the engine. As you are getting a click noise when you turn the key means that all other wiring is working as it should. If no loose connection and the battery is ok then you will need a starter. If you havent checked your battery get jumper cables and try to jump start it. If it starts with the jumper cables then all you need is a new battery to sort your problem.

I have a 91 legacy GT and theres quite a bit going wrong...when you start her for the next 20minutes or so theres a taping noise which increases as you accelerate...going around corners a loud noise comes...

hi you have a worn camshaft it always makes noise when worn the tapping sounds louder when you accelerate.its important to have regular oil changes as the oil ways can become blocked and lead to this type of trouble if oil changes are over looked.also check for worn big end bearings that connect the pistons to the crank shaft.
