Question about 2005 GMC Envoy Xl
This could be as easy as a tune up. Check the inside of the throttle body for dirt build up. Spray throttle body cleaner into the throttle body and you'll see alot of black dirt come out of it. Continue spraying until the cleaner looks fairly clean. What could be happening is the dirt is clogging the small gap that has to be at the throttle plate when the plate is closed. The small gap is to allow air to enter the engine to keep it running at idle.
